Propulsive Drives
When I try to reach a destination, there is a clear starting point and a clear arrival or goal.
To drive a vehicle I need to invest in the vehicle itself, keep it roadworthy or river worthy and put fuel into it.
So also inother aspects of life.
In all the areas in which you are moving towards a goal, are you in a state of preparedness?
Is your car or boat (your body, your equipment, your qualifications) road- or seaworthy?
1. Are you kitted out for the by-roads as well as the high-roads, the fields as well as the Motorways?
2. Are you only seaworthy for the canals or also for the high seas?
3. Can you go fast as well as slow, depending on the circumstances? (Most importantly, do your brakes work
and are you prepared to use them? Does your steering wheel work, or is it locked onto a destination with
a ball and chain?)
4. Have you enough fuel to make the distance? Have you planned your rests, your re-fuelling stops and
your water stops?
5. Is the rest sufficient for a service, a real break or pause. In our case, is a weekend break in order or
a holiday?
6. Have you passed a TUV, a driver’s test, or read enough to know how to properly react?
7. Have you clearly defined your starting point as well as your destination? Think about any navigating you do,
without a point of outset and an end, no start is possible.
So, when driving, as a help you might use a navigation system, or a map or even a personal Navigator on the seat next to you so that you arrive where you want to go - so in your life situation.
You might want to think about guidance. The Bible is the best help on all moral issues as well as many practical situations. On top of this, you might want to read books on the subject, listen to sermons, documentaries and podcasts, ask friends for their opinions and seek out a coach or a mentor, your personal navigator.
