Drive is a great word.
- I can drive a car, drive a boat or drive a golf ball – all indicating propulsion.
- I can drive you to drink, drive you to wrack and ruin or drive you – all indicating a physical demise.
But if I drive you wild it might be with passion, which under the correct circumstances might be very enjoyable.
- I can also drive you to your knees, over the edge, drive you up the wall or drive you crazy, which all show much more invisible, emotional influences.
